What we collect,
and what we don't.
Families reading ElderCareAtlas are usually in a difficult moment. Here's exactly what the site sees, what we store, and what we refuse to do with it.
What we collect on the public site
Standard analytics: page views, referrers, device type, rough geography (state-level only). We do not set third-party advertising cookies. We do not build cross-site profiles.
What we collect if you contact us
If you submit a form — cost-calculator, eligibility check, or attorney match — we collect only what's needed to answer your question: your name, email, state, and the specifics of your situation. We store these for as long as we're in contact with you, then delete.
What we never do
We do not sell your information to placement agencies, nursing homes, home-care brokers, or attorney referral networks. We do not add you to marketing lists unless you explicitly opt in. We do not share your situation with third parties for any purpose other than the specific service you requested.
Attorney and CMP matching
If you use the "find an attorney" or "find a CMP" service, we share only what you choose to send — and only with the one professional you select. We do not pre-share your contact info with a network.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. If you are a California or EU resident, standard CCPA/GDPR rights apply — right to access, right to deletion, right to object.
Changes to this policy
We date every change at the bottom of this page. Material changes get an email to anyone with an active contact thread at the time.
